Experiment with food for great taste and nutrients

October 31, 2019in blog 0 Comments 6 Likes

Food is one the most fundamental necessities of life. Food is any nutritious substance that people eat or drink in order to maintain life and growth. Food is so important, even the great humanitarian Mahatma Gandhi said: “There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of food”.

There are so many varieties of food on earth. So much so that, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), there are over 300,000 edible plant based foods, and over 296,000 animal based wild foods on the planet; with more being discovered every year.

As human beings, nutritional values are important to our overall development. The nutrients that foods contain are grouped into general classes. These are carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, vitamins, and lipids. As we grow from babies to adults, we have a great primary requirement for protein.

To gain nutrients from meals and maintain a good lifestyle, one must experiment so as to find the combinations that offer good nutritional value and taste great too. Thankfully, humans have found ways to combine the various food to make all sorts of cuisines, meals, and dishes. Here are some great tasting meals rich with quality nutrients:

  • Sweet Potato Casserole with Homemade pancakes.
  • Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Eggs
  • Grilled Croaker fish and chips
  • Beans porridge and plantain chips.
